Keith Presgraves, RIP

Posted by on May 27, 2018 in prayers, RIP | 0 comments

It is with sadness, but trusting in the loving mercy of God that we advise that Keith Presgraves died peacefully on Tuesday 15 May 2018. Keith was a loving husband to Frances Presgraves; father to Paul and Lisa Presgraves; and a grandfather. He died after a long illness. Frances and the rest of her family thank everyone for the prayers and kind messages sent whilst Keith was unwell. He was always a great supporter of Frances and the children volunteering in Lourdes – whether with the CA or HCPT. In addition, Keith greatly assisted back at home when Frances was the CA’s Chief Nurse – assisting where needed and helping with all the sorting.  Many of us also have very fond memories of sharing some happy parties or time at their home with Keith and his family – either after a sponsored walk; or for a big birthday! Please keep Keith and his family in your prayers. May he rest in peace and rise in glory! Funeral arrangements There will be a requiem mass for Keith on Friday 8 June 2018 12:00pm, at St Luke’s Catholic Church, Benyon Grove, Orton Malborne, Peterborough, PE2 5XS. Followed by refreshments in Yaxley. Family flowers only. If desired, donations to St Luke’s Church and MAGPAS Air Ambulance. To allow planning for refreshments, if you are planning to attend, or if you have any other enquiries, please contact 07734706299 for more...

The CA and its constituent groups organise pilgrimages to the shrine of Our Lady at Lourdes, incorporating the dioceses of Clifton, East Anglia, Northampton, Southwark, with Stonyhurst College and the Glanfield Children’s Group. All welcome

Posted by on Mar 2, 2018 in pilgrimage | 0 comments

As the Catholic Association Trustees, we are looking forward to welcoming you on the Catholic Association Pilgrimage to Lourdes in 2018 from 24th to 31st August, with flights from Stansted, Birmingham and Southampton.  Tangney Tours will be sending out full details in the very near future to all on their mailing list. Since running our first Pilgrimage over 100 years ago, we have welcomed pilgrims from all parts of the UK and, indeed, from across the world.  Therefore, although it is with disappointment that we must advise you that Portsmouth Diocese has decided not to participate in this year’s Pilgrimage as a Diocese, those who have travelled with Portsmouth in the past will be very welcome to join any of our other groups, in particular the “CA Annual” group for those with no particular allegiance to other dioceses.  We understand no other Lourdes Pilgrimage will be offered by Portsmouth Diocese in 2018.  The Catholic Association recognises the very large number of Portsmouth Pilgrims who have come with our Pilgrimage from Portsmouth, some for more than 40 years, and especially the Priests and Nurses, Doctors, Brancardiers, Handmaids and of course the Assisted Pilgrims and hope that they will continue to feel welcome on the Pilgrimage, this year and hopefully into the future. We also understand that the Carmelite Group will not join the Catholic Association Pilgrimage as specific group this year.  The same warm welcome is extended to those who have travelled with the Carmelites over the last few years. The remaining component groups of the Catholic Association, namely, Clifton, East Anglia, Northampton, Southwark, Stonyhurst College, and the Glanfield Group will be joining us as usual. We do look forward to seeing you with us on Pilgrimage in...
